What is the House of Hopes and Dreams Raffle?

The House of Hopes and Dreams Raffle was developed on the premise that in today's economy charities must think differently and become more creative to reach their objectives.  We are offering someone the chance to win a home while we raise awareness and money for an often fatal birth defect known as congenital diaphragmatic hernia.

What are the prizes?

Grand Prize - Home valued at $240,000

2nd Prize - $50,000 cash

3rd Prize - $25,000 cash

How long will it take to receive my ticket in the mail?

Please allow 4-6 weeks processing time once your form of payment has cleared.  All tickets purchased before entry deadline are included in the drawing even if the customer's portion of the ticket arrives after drawing date.

Is the House of Hopes and Dreams legal?

Yes.  G.S.  14-209.15

How much does the raffle ticket cost?

Each raffle ticket costs $10.00

How many raffle tickets can I buy?

You may buy as many raffle tickets as you like.

How many raffle tickets will be sold?

A minimum of 70,000 and maximum of 100,000 raffle tickets will be sold.  The chances of winning are based on those numbers.

When does the raffle start and when does it end?

The raffle begins on November 23, 3009 and ends February 20, 2010.  The foundation has exercised its right to extend the raffle to a a drawing date of April 15, 2010.

When will prize drawings be held?

February 27, 2010 12:00 p.m. EST.  The drawing date has been extended to April 15, 2010.

Do I have to be present to win?

No.

How will the winners be notified?

Winners will be notified by phone based on the contact information provided at the time of ticket purchase and posted online at this website.

Who can buy a raffle ticket?

Drawing open only to persons age 18 or older at the time of entry to purchase tickets, be a ticket holder or win a prize. The following individuals, and immediate family members (defined as spouse or IRS dependent) of, or who reside in the same household as, any person in any of the following categories, are not eligible to participate: * Employees of The Parker Reese Foundation. * Any person who resides in any area where this drawing, game by chance, would otherwise be prohibited by law.

Are raffle tickets tax-deductible?

No. The IRS does not allow raffle tickets to be tax deductible.
